Players of The Sims 4 miss out on this game feature a lot. Rightly so, as it was a great addition for storytellers in previous games. But what if I told you that there is actually a memory system in The Sims 4? No mod required either!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to add memories in The Sims 4<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Memories can be created in the Screenshot Manager of your game. The Manager is linked to the screenshot folder on your computer. You can usually find screenshots here<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C: \\ Users \\ UsernameHere \\ Documents \\ Electronic Arts \\ The Sims 4 \\ Screenshots<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To add a memory for your Sims, proceed as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Open the Screenshot Manager<\/li><li>Choose the screenshot you want for your memory and click on it<\/li><li>Write a description (optional, but much more fun)<\/li><li>Press the Create Memory button to add as memory<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How can I view the memories of my Sims?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, memories are not added to a specific album of some types, so you will have to revisit them in Screenshot Manager. You can recognise memories in the Screenshot Manager by the head icon in the lower left corner of the screenshot. The icon will appear in the colour of the corresponding emotion of the memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To view a memory follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Find the memory you want to display in your Screenshot Manager<\/li><li>Click on the image to open the screenshot details<\/li><li>Press the View Memory button to open the memory details<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you have opened the memory details you will see a couple of things you can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Sims in the screenshot will automatically be marked in the memory. You can delete the memory of a specific Sim by hovering the mouse over its portrait and clicking on the cross.<\/li><li>Reapply the memory for all Sims deleted at the same time by clicking the Recall Sim with Tag button.<\/li><li>Screenshots of other saves will not be marked correctly as the Sim does not exist in the current game.<\/li><li>Relive the moment by clicking on Make Sims Remember in the Memory interaction. This will give your Sim a 4-hour state of mind, increasing the emotion from the memory.<\/li><li>Add a description if you have not already done so.<\/li><li>Delete the memory if you no longer want it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where can I find the Screenshot Manager?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two ways to find the memory system in The Sims 4, but it all depends on your game's Screenshot Manager. This function is linked to all screenshots you have captured so far, as long as they remain in your game's screenshot folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first way to access Screenshot Manager is to click the button next to the time and speed UI. Find the button that says Camera Options and open it, you should now see three options. Click Screenshot Capture Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second way to access Screenshot Manager is a little more complicated, but I thought I'd explain it anyway. Go to the Screen Capture tab in the Game Options menu and make sure the Show dialog box after capture option is turned on. Whenever you take a screenshot now, you'll see a pop-up dialogue box. At the bottom left of this dialogue box, you will find the Show screenshot management button. This dialogue box will not open after taking screenshots in Camera mode (tab button) or if Sims take their own photos such as selfies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So yes, The Sims 4 really does have memories for your Sims, the feature is easily lost because you have to know where to look. Unlike previous games, it's completely up to the player to add memories, which makes them more unique and personal.
