Complete list of commands for PC / Mac, Xbox and Playstation 4

This is a huge and curated list of (tricks in The Sims 4) that allow you to get money, prevent death and adjust your skill and career levels. We've also listed cheats for Get to Work and other expansion packs. See the bottom of the list for expansion specific information. We're also up to date with more official EA cheats, including career unlocks and ignored MoveObjects!

Sim-themed games can also be found in the casino of various online casino. These have become popular in recent years.

How to cheat

To use the tricks, press Control + Shift + C to turn the console on and off. You can do this on Xbox or Playstation by pressing all four buttons on your shoulder together. Press Enter after typing the trick. For many tricks, you must also use testingcheats onotherwise they will not work. Most tricks are used in live mode (F2).

• Playstation 4: Press R1 + R2 + L1 + L2 at the same time
• Xbox One: Press LB + LT + RB + RT at the same time

Tricks for pregnancy and multiple birth

You can use relationship tricks to quickly prove the baby and follow a trick once the Sim is pregnant to force it to give birth. You can also cheat to get twins, triplets, quadruplets or more! Find it towards the end of the Pregnancy Guide or get specifically pregnancy tricks. I have created a page on how to use Pregnancy Tricks.

Tricks for turning a Sim into a ghost

Go to the ghost guide for tricks to turn a Sim into a Death ghost of any type, depending on the type of death. You can also skip Ambrosia or the Book of Life and turn a dead Sim into a normal Sim by removing this ghost trait once it has been added back to your family.

Cheats Testing

To enable TestingCheats, open the console with Left CTRL + Shift+ C (press/hold in a fluid motion in that order) or by pressing all four buttons on the shoulder of the console. When the white box appears, type testingcheats on. To disable cheat testing, type testingcheats off. The cheat console will say "Cheats enabled" or "Disabled". If not, you can try other options: testingcheats 1, testingcheats true e testingcheats yes all work to enable Sims 4 testingcheats. Once enabled, they should remain active for your save. Here are the things you can do with testingcheats: note that this command is also needed for the extra tricks below.

How to use Shift + click style cheats on PS4 / Xbox consoles - Shift-clicking is not possible on Xbox One and Playstation 4. Enable this option by pressing X + O (PS4) or A + B (Xbox One).

Shift+ click on mailbox to access the trick to stop a Sim's need decay for your current family or the whole neighbourhood (make everyone happy). Disable Need Decay will cause needs to stop falling and reactivating them is as simple as selecting Enable Need Decay. Make Happy will then satisfy the needs to the maximum. You can do this at the individual Sim level by Shift-clicking on your Sims. It will allow you to choose to make only that Sim's needs static or to make him happy by meeting all needs. You can also completely redesign a Sim by holding down the Shift key and clicking on it and selecting Edit in CAS. This brings you to Create a Sim, where you can make the Sim look any way you like, but not change its gender or features.

Change the traits and appearance of Sims To fully edit a Sim in Create a Sim, type cas.fulleditmode with TestingCheats On. It will allow you to change gender, traits, everything and is much more powerful than the shortened version you get without typing this trick.

Shift-clicking on NPC Sims you can add them to your family. You will find that you can enable/disable need decay and make them happy if you wish - good if your Sim's appointment has to leave because they are tired! You can also edit them in CAS if you wish.

Shift+click on terrain will allow you to teleport anywhere you can walk in the neighbourhood.

Shift-clicking on objects allows you to restore them if something crashes or breaks.

Shift + click on objects, for those that can get dirty, allows you to soil or clean them - all objects can be restored too. Use it if an object is disturbed, but it is more likely to be useful when a Sim gets stuck.

Customise the size of objects - Enlarge or Reduce - This is a winner for decorative purposes. It allows you to modify objects while maintaining their other properties (so a reduced masterpiece painting will consume less wall space). This trick only works in build mode, as changing the size of the object requires you to adjust it somewhere. Take the object whose size you want to change and press Shift +] (right square bracket) to enlarge it. You can reduce objects down to one tile by using Shift + [or using Ctrl + Z to undo changes. If you press too much, it will increase enormously. The controls for this are a bit unstable, so you may want to experiment. I press Control +] then move the object to see the change. This is necessary. Fortunately, if you overdo it as in the photo above, you can always undo it and shrink the object to the size you prefer.

Skill, career and aspiration tricks

Powerful hidden tricks

Just listing the most common tricks here. It can do more in-depth things, such as the ability to equip and remove traits, can be done, but the list is too long for here, so it's on its own page. If you want to go further and use a mod, you can change the weather if you're a Seasons player with the use of The Sims 4 Seasons weather tricks.

Testingcheats on should be enabled, as some tricks will not work without it. Skill/career tricks only affect the selected Sim.

Money X - Type in Money 50000 or 1000000, as you prefer, and your family will have exactly that amount. This can be used to embezzle funds because it sets the money to any specified amount. Motherlode is a beautiful cheater. You can get All Money tricks here.

Suction / satisfaction tricks -Digita Aspirations.Complete_Current_Milestone and you will get all the satisfaction from completing that milestone and move on to the next one, a stage closer to the special reward trait you get for completing the aspiration. You can do this repeatedly until you have all the reward traits and satisfaction drops. It's listed above, but it's worth repeating here: Sims.Give_Satisfaction_Points gives the selected Sim an amount of satisfaction equal to what you enter. sims.give_satisfaction_points 50000 would give you 50,000 (so don't use commas).

Infinite consumables - You can buy disposable potions to your satisfaction. You can also milk cow plants that have killed Sims in order to obtain a potion that will increase their lifespan. You can make these consumables infinite by using the trick objects.consumables_infinite_toggle. This may allow you to always obtain a particular emotion or to make a Sim immortal while ageing still in progress.

Career tricks

To cheat career levels, join the career you want and with testingcheats enabled, type Careers.promote X - e.g. careers.promote astronaut would promote your Sim to the next level in the astronaut career. Any careers that have multiple words must not contain spaces, e.g. secret agent careers.promote.

Also careers.demote X works by returning a Sim level. You can't use it to return to the branch choice for a career: if you are at the first level of a branch, you will be dismissed using it.

Adding and removing tricks by command -Careers can be added by command using careers.add_career careercode o careers.remove_career careercode. These can be used to give a teenager an adult job, although things can get crazy, especially with freelance careers. Always back up your saved game before trying strange things!
If you are not aware, you will love this trick: to get more promotions quickly, copy the following command for the career you are in - just the part careers.promote x - and paste it into the game's command line with Control - V (Command-V on Mac). Paste it up to your level 10!

School tricks

Increase a Sim's grades with careers.promote gradeschool o careers.promote highschool. You can also lower them with careers.demote gradeschool / highschool.

Skill tricks

Stats.Set_Skill_Level is the skill trick. You have to enter skill and level into the code. For example, type Stats.set_skill_level major_painting 7 to set painting to level 7: any level between 1 and 10 will work. Replace with major_parenting or vampire_lore, depending on how the game defines the skills listed below. Note the different syntax for fitness, minor skills and child skills. If you can't get the trick skills to work, try stats.set_skill_level adultmajor_x instead of 'major'. You can find _ next to the backspace key on the keyboard.

With testingcheats on, type Stats.set_skill_level major_handiness 10 - make handiness 10. Write down the Major_ before the skill name. If you do this, you will see the level 10 popup. To quickly maximise all skills, copy stats.set_skill_level major_ and paste it into your command console in the game. End the command with the skill, then the level. This doesn't work for fitness, so you have to copy that line. Remember the photo limits at 5.

Emotion tricks

This requires AllTrick of TwistedMexi, but it's something people often want to do, so I'll list it here. You can affect emotions slightly by adding buffs to Sims, though you might need happy or other bonuses to put them at "Very Inspired" or add more negative buffs to make a Sim super embarrassed (Mortified). Here are a few I took from TwistedMexi's wiki, which I'm using with his permission. Use Sims.add_buff X, e.g. Sims.add_buff social_happy:

Traits, rewards and aspirations reward tricks

Traits can be equipped for Sims, rewards in satisfaction points and those you earn by completing aspirations. The trick to adding / removing them is Traits.equip_trait X o Traits.Remove_trait X. Almost all Stroke Tricks can be found here. Most are simply the name of the trait, but this is not always the case. For example, there are:

Relationship tricks

You can change the relationships of Sims using the Tricks a little long modifyrelationship yoursimfirst targetsimlast targetsimlast x relationshiptype. The type of relationship is LTR_Friendship_main or LTR_Romance_Main. With Cats and Dogs, you use LTR_SimtoPet_Friendship_Mainwhich will not work if the animal does not have a surname. X is the percentage of the bar, full, half or half, in the red (negative numbers). Although there are many different relationship names, these are combinations of varying amounts of friendship / romance (positive or negative). Get famous tricks

I have created a page on The Sims 4 Get Famous tricks. Get Famous includes many of the tricks you need via the testingcheats interface. Shift-click on the Sims and you can use the "Public Image" menu to increase the celebrity's fame rating, change their public image from good to bad, or even freeze their fame and remove specific quirks. If you want to restore the benefits of fame, it's doable with the phone for $ 275. The actor's career, acting ability and media production are all in their respective categories, but I will list them: stats.set_skill_level major_acting 10, stats.set_skill_level minor_mediaproduction 5, careers.promote actor or, for children, careers .promote dramaclub for example.

Dine Out Cheats

The following restaurant perk cheats for The Sims 4 Dine Out Game Pack have been collected under the GTW Cheats format as this category seems to borrow from Get to Work's Retail. I found that the same code works and just had to track down their names within the files. You will notice that they differ. Note that Meal Rush and Surplus Harvest can be used every 24 hours. For those as additional employees or ingredient discounts, you may need to take them in order. You can take them in order several times, but I'm not sure if you need to do something special to add extra degrees.

Vampires Cheats

How to turn a Sim into a vampire

stats.set_stat commodity_BecomingVampire 2160 will start the natural conversion process, while traits.equip_trait trait_OccultVampire will immediately turn them into vampires. To remove the vampire trait and restore a Sim, use traits.remove_trait trait_OccultVampire. You can use these tricks to convert Sims from the Gallery.

How to unlock the advantages of the vampire

stats.set_stat ratedStatistic_Occult_VampireXP 1593 maximises your vampire rank and will give you 2 PowerPoints every time you enter the code. Copy it from here and use control + V after opening the in-game cheat panel to paste it repeatedly. You can find more specific vampire tricks here.

Parenting tricks

The Sims 4 Parenthood comes with a new Parenthood skill, which can cheat with stats.set_skill_level major_ parenting EX - I have created a page about more sims 4 Parenthood tricks.

Character values Tricks

Toddlers, children and teenagers can experience five different character values, ranging from -100 to 100 (good or good). You can set these manually so that when the Sim ages to adulthood, he will receive reward traits that reflect his morality, manners, etc. They are set with: stats.set_stat lifeskillstatistic_empathy 100as an example of stats.set_stat lifeskillstatistic_conflictresolution -100 - Be sure to include a number based on how full or negative you want the experience bars to be:

Reward traits for character values

New trait reward character values are earned when children and teenagers become adults and can be added to or removed from your Sim if you have a bad one. In some cases, you can have the good one from one of the five categories but cannot equip the bad one at the same time. Traits are added with traits.equip_trait x and removed with traits.remove_trait x.

The Sims 4 Dogs and Cats Cheats

Cats and dogs offer a few ways to cheat. First, you can increase the skills listed above (in-game code for Major_veterinarian and Skill_Dogtraining). You can also cheat to unlock the benefits of the veterinary clinic. Here is the complete list of codes to unlock them. The Sims 4 seasons Expansion Pack doesn't offer many careers or cheating skills (only three listed in the Career and Skill Tricks sections), but you can Cheat to change the time with a mod. You can also equip your Sim with the Scouting Aptitude reward trait and other rewards from the DLC.

Realm of Magic cheats

Realm of Magic includes a few tricks unique to that game pack. You can increase Spellcaster Rank, learn spells and potion recipes via buy debug, equip the unique traits from RoM, including Magical Bloodline, and add or remove curses. If you can't get the Cheats to work

Many tricks require testing to work. Make sure you have done testingcheats on first. It mainly works from the live / build / buy modes of the game, as many don't work on the map. You should pause it by pressing tilde (`) or clicking the pause icon, and when the time comes you should first press and hold the left CTRL key, then Shift, then C in that order, without letting go of any of the keys, to open the console first. This should be a smooth movement and not too slow. Secondly, you need to type in the tricks exactly.
