The Sims 4 10 Pregnancy Mods you need

The Sims 4 has been out for several years now and let's be real, pregnancy has never been detailed enough. I'm still waiting for a big pregnancy update to come to the game, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

This is why I am so grateful that modders exist to make the game more fun and much more interesting. These 10 mods will make your sim's pregnancy much more detailed and keep you on your toes a little longer instead of bored and waiting for the baby to arrive.

The Sims 4 Pregnancy 10 Best Mods

Pregnancy Mega Mod

The first mod in this list is the biggest, can you tell by the name? ArtUrlWW's Pregnancy Mega Mod adds so much to pregnancy that it had to be the first one on this list.

Let's talk about just a few of the things that are available in this mega mod:

  • Possibility of having five or six twins
  • Possibility of terminating the pregnancy
  • Setting the stage for your pregnancy
  • Ability to impregnate any Sim
  • Ability to control the duration of pregnancy
  • Chance of miscarriage
  • Ability to set parental gender preferences
  • and much more

There is so much in this mod that can really change your sim's pregnancy and make the gameplay much more fun and more customisable.

Risky Woohoo

One thing that can make your sim feel more real pregnant is if it wasn't planned in the first place. Since our only option is to woohoo or try to have a baby, it is always known if your sim could get pregnant.

The risky woohoo mod gives you the chance to do a risky woohoo where you have a more random chance of getting pregnant and you can do a pregnancy test with it instead of just trying for the baby.

I always found it more fun when you can get pregnant without trying in the game to make it seem more like real life.

Ultrasonic mode

Little Ms Sam's Ultrasound Scan mod is a really fun addition to the game and adds a bit of realism to your sim's pregnancy. In this mod you can go to the gynaecologist which is a necessary part of any pregnant woman's journey.

This will cost your sim §75 and your pregnant sim will leave and go for 60-90 minutes. They will learn whether they are having twins or triplets and the sex of the babies in their bellies.

You will come home with an ultrasound scan in your sim's inventory that can be hung on any wall, which makes pregnancy much more fun in my opinion!

Mod baby shower

A really important part of any first-time parent's experience is that they can organise a baby shower for all their family and friends. However, The Sims 4 lacks a baby shower option in our social events.

Luckily, modders always find solutions to these problems. Brittpinkiesims has created a Baby Shower Mod that allows you to have a baby shower compatible with the base game with its tasks and all.

Mod stretch marks

One thing that most women who get pregnant face for the rest of their lives are stretch marks, and this is not part of the original sim game. Luckily, a Stretch Marks Mod by Katybug273 is available!

This will allow you to add stretch marks to your sims in the same way you would add a tattoo, making your pregnant or recently delivered sims look much more real.

Instant morning sickness

Some sim players do not like to know right away that their sim is pregnant, but this is often ruined by the uncomfortable moodlet that sims get a few hours before they throw up.

Polar Bear Sims' Instant Morning Sickness mod is simple and only removes the uncomfortable moodlet from your pregnant sims. They might still have morning sickness, but they might not and you'll only find out when they have a moodlet saying they're pregnant.

Mod Working puddles

This mod may seem silly to some, however, people's water breaking is something that happens in many pregnancies, so it can really add some realism!

The Puddle of Labour mod created by Polar Bear Sims is a fantastic and simple mod that will make a nice puddle appear to your sim when they go into labour, just as if their waters were breaking.

Mood swings in pregnancy

It seems that every single sim in the game will be generically happy to get pregnant unless they have the trait that they hate children. This is not very realistic, most people who get pregnant will not be immediately happy about it.

The Pregnancy Mood Buffs mod from ZafiSims allows your sims to feel sad, embarrassed, tense, uncomfortable or angry about their pregnancy!

Longer/shorter pregnancy mode

For many simmers, the length of the pregnancy is not long enough. It is either too long or too short. Some of us can't wait, and some of us want to love that moment.

Luckily, Havem has created a mod that will change the length of your sim's pregnancy and allow you to control the length.

Slice of Life

Okay okay. Slice of Life isn't really a mod focused on pregnancy, but it's really great for making your game more realistic and making it more fun.

Kawaii Stacie's Slice of Life is a mod that only focuses on making your game more realistic. It adds things like changing your appearance when you feel different emotions, the ability to get drunk and much more.

The part that I think will add realism to a person's journey towards pregnancy is the fact that your sim can have a period, which is part of most women's lives.

Final thoughts

Pregnancy is really boring in The Sims 4 if you're a vanilla gamer, luckily these modders exist to create content we all need and deserve. If any of these mods no longer work or this list is out of date, leave me a comment and I'll be sure to update it!

Also, are there any pregnancy mods in The Sims 4 that you wish existed? I've always enjoyed listening to people's dreams for the game.
