Going to university in The Sims 4 doesn't just have to be about studying and doing homework, your sims have to have fun too!
The sim team has added two new after-school activities that your sims can enjoy, being an e-sports player and joining the football team!
These after-school activities are only available to sims enrolled in school at the University of Britechester or Foxbury Institute.
How to join the football team
Joining a football team is as easy as finding a job in The Sims 4. You can click Find a job in the career panel and scroll down to the bottom of the options until you find Football team player.
You can also go to the phone to find these same interactions. You also have the option to go to the campus and click on the arena and choose Join Soccer Team!
Levels of being a football player
There are 4 levels to be in the university football team, and each level will have different advantages for your sim.
With each level of being in the football team, your sim will have several tasks to complete before he can move on as well as his daily task of juggling the football, for trainee sims must complete these two tasks before moving on:
- Reach fitness level 2
- Make friends with 2 teammates
As a trainee, your sim is the bottom of the totem pole. They will have to reach at least level 2 of the fitness skill if they want to improve in football. You can do this by swimming, running, lifting weights, playing with the football and more.
You must also make friends with at least two of the people on your team. You will have your teammates in your relationship panel once you go to your first practice.
You can go to the work section of the relations panel and you will see some people and when you hover your mouse over them it will say teammate.
As a bench warmer, your sim should start studying or discussing football strategies as a daily task before going to the activity after school. This can be done on a computer in the web section.
There are two tasks that your sim must complete if it wants to go from a counter warmer to a starter and they are:
- Reach fitness level 4
- Reach logic level 3
I really like the fact that you have to acquire logical ability to improve in football because you have to be logical and be able to make quick decisions that make sense for your whole team. You can acquire logic skills by playing chess or using a telescope.
You must also continue to develop your fitness skills during your football team days.
You are getting better at playing football that you can now actually start the game! Your sim will also receive the football team's playbook when it joins the team that it can use to have a better chance of winning matches.
Your daily task will be to study the plays in your new football notebook, which is nice and easy and does not take much time. Your requirements to reach the final level are:
- Reach fitness level 6
- Reach logic level 5
Win a football match
You will need to win a football game, so you should make sure that before the games on Friday and Saturday you study your plays, read your playbook and work hard.
When you reach the level of director of a football team, you are now the best! You no longer have to acquire any skills or have any requirements, except for your daily task of kicking or juggling!
Football team calendar
Being a member of the football team will require a lot of time in your sim's schedule. You will practice on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 18:00 to 21:00.
You will also have two games per week from 18:00 to 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. During the games, you may see pop-ups where you can make decisions about how your sim plays.
There are two football games a week on Fridays and Saturdays at 6pm. Friday games take place at the Foxbury Institute arena and Saturday at the University of Britechester arena.
Your sims can watch football matches even if they are not part of the team. They can simply click on the stadium on the correct campus when the game takes place and off they go! It is important to note that the games cost §45, which is an expensive task.
Sims who are not at university can also participate! Which could be a nice way to spend a weekend evening with your normal families, especially if your sim is an alumnus of one of the two schools.
Becoming a professional athlete
One really interesting thing about football after school is that if you become a director of the team, you will be able to jump straight into a career as a professional athlete.
Your sim will skip most of his career, earn more money per hour and have tons of holiday days. Pair it with a biology degree for maximum bonuses since a biology degree pairs well with athletics.
The football team is really difficult, since you have training or a match 6 days a week. This requires so much time from your sim's studies and can take a long time. I had a sim with ONE CLASS that managed to get an F, get put on probation and was late for every football practice. So, that's a lot.
