How to turn your Sim into a vampire

First you need to own The Sims 4 Vampires for it to work. Creating a vampire Sim is one of the most creative things you can do in the "Create a Sim" mode with many options to choose from! But first I'll explain the ways to turn your Sim into a vampire. There are two ways to change your Sim. You can create a vampire in Create a Sim or your Sim can be bitten during the game. I will explain both situations.

Create a vampire in Create a Sim

Go to the bottom left corner of the screen. Click on "Add a Sim" and select "Add Vampire". You now have more customization options for this Sim. Vampires have a normal shape and a dark shape. You can choose to make them completely different with markings, eye colour, shape, you can copy his original shape with a few adjustments or you can remove the dark shape completely and have only one shape per human/vampire. If you want to turn a Sim from the gallery into a vampire, you can only do it while playing and not in Create a Sim.

Vampire Sims in different stages of life

You will be able to create a vampire Sim in "Create a Sim" starting from baby or toddler. You can also choose the vampires' eyes, ears and skin colour. But the powers and their dark form are only available from the Teen stage.

Get bitten by a vampire to transform your Sim

When you have an existing Sim that you want to turn into a vampire, you have to do it in another way. At first you need to do some basics. Start by talking (about vampires) with Sims who live in Forgotten Hollow. You can recognize vampiric interactions by looking for those marked with a vampiric bat. After talking to many Sims and maybe even becoming friends with them, Vladislaus Straud will contact you. Look for him after his first text message. You can ask Vladislaus Straud, the first vampire of Forgotten Hollow to transform you. He lives in the mansion with the graveyard around it, but he can also be found in the centre of Forgotten Hollow by his statue. You don't have to be friends with him to do this. When you want another vampire to turn you, you have to be a good friend to him.

The ritual

The first thing Vladislaus did was hypnotize my Sim. She weakened herself so that he could easily bite her. After this, the vampire grabs his arm to hurt himself and lets my Sim drink from his plasma/blood. After the process is complete, your Sim craves Plasma. Don't worry, the vampire who turned your Sim will send some Plasma packs to help you out. Turning into a vampire actually takes a few days. In those few days your Sim will slowly become disgusted with food. This will make your Sim uncomfortable and even very uncomfortable in a few days.

And now we wait...
While your Sim waits before turning into a vampire, you can "look up vampire information" on the computer. This will unlock skill books for your Vampire Lore skill. Each skill level will unlock a new book that will teach your Sim the basics of being a vampire.

... to become a vampire!
A few days have passed and your Sim has turned into a vampire. You will need plasma, plasma fruit or plasma packs to quench your thirst.

Change the dress, markings and eye colour of a vampire

It is very likely that you would like to change the clothing and body changes of your newly reborn vampire. You can do this by clicking on a chest of drawers and clicking on "Change Sim". Changes made to this Sim will not be copied to your normal Sim unless you use the copy tool in the bottom left corner.

Change signs, teeth, skin tone

Click on your Sim's head and choose the icon at the top: Face. You will have many options to choose from. It is easy to choose the type of vampire first, you can find this option in Vampire Archetypes. You can change everything later, but it's a good start! Now choose, skin details, eye details, teeth and more!

Changing the colour of eyes and ears

Now click on the eyes, this will give you many options! White eyes, red eyes, feline eyes, golden-looking eyes. When you click on the ears you will get options to make them pointed or round.
Satisfying the vampire needs of your Sims
Vampires have different needs than normal Sims. They do not have to go to the toilet, hunger is replaced by thirst and energy is replaced by vampire energy.

Vampire Energy

Vampires use Vampire Energy to perform powers and protect themselves from the sun's rays, which will slowly drain a vampire's energy. When your energy is completely depleted, your vampire Sim can easily die. Recover vampire energy by sleeping or using dark meditation.

  • Complete the master vampire aspiration to accumulate even more energy.
  • Add power points to Student / Disciple / Occult Master to reduce the cost of powers.
  • Drink the sunlight inversion cocktail to give your Sim a temporary immunity to the sun. This bar recipe can be unlocked when you reach level 11 of the Vampire Lore skill.

Thirst

Vampires don't get thirsty very often, but make sure you drink from Sims or eat plasma fruit when they do. Otherwise they may attack a nearby Sim without warning.

You can get plasma packs on the computer, collect plasma fruits and eat/drink them to quench your thirst, create plasma packs from fish and frogs or your vampire Sim can drink plasma from another Sim.

Cheats to fill Vampire Energy and Thirst

If you want to use a Cheat Sheet to fill your Vampire Energy, all you have to do is type CTRL + CAPS + C and enter the cheat code testingcheats true. Shift + left click on your vampire Sim and choose Cheats Need> Make Happy. For more tricks visit The Sims 4 Vampires Cheats

Cure Vampirism (Vampire Hunter)

Reach level 15 in Vampire Knowledge to find the cure. The recipe is called 'The Ultimate Vampire Cure' and can be prepared in a bar. You will need 10 garlic, 10 Wolfsbane and 10 plasma fruits. Find the ingredients in Forgotten Hollow or order the seeds from the computer or grow them in your own garden. You can drink it if you are a vampire or you can use it on someone else.

To cure another vampire of vampirism, choose "The Ultimate Vampire Cure" from your inventory (you will need to do this first) and click on the vampire you wish to "cure". This option can be found in Medium Interactions and is called "Slay Vampire". Now you must win the battle! The garlic braids in your inventory can help you win the battle more easily. After your Sim has won this fight, the vampire will return to its human form. Your Sim can actually be a vampire hunter! This will not work on infants, toddlers and children. They will have to be teenagers before they can drink a cure.

Curiosities about vampires

  • Vampires can also catch a fever.
  • Vampire babies and children are not affected by sunlight.
  • You cannot transform a Sim if a vampire has just drunk Plasma from him/her. You will have to wait a few hours.
  • Vampires do not have a lifespan, they remain this age forever and can only die of unnatural causes.
  • Vampires can be outside during the day as long as they have a ceiling above their heads.
  • Truly powerful vampires sometimes pass on their experience to the Sims they address.
  • Vampire ghosts are also not sun-resistant.
  • When you have set the bat shape or the fog shape, if your Sim teleports while holding a baby or toddler, they will teleport with you. Very useful when it's past sleep time to get them to bed.
  • Build a good relationship with another Sim and they will probably be more willing to let you drink from them.
